Lost and the Damned

gta4lostBesides having one of the coolest logos of all time, the Lost and the Damned is a full-featured, beautifully conceived piece of DLC that no self-respecting-wannabe-biker-dude should be without.

Read more after the jump!TL&D is a mutha.  It has a mouth.  It’s rough, gritty, in-your-face, and about as disturbing as you can get for a video game.

Within about an hour of playtime you’ll have ground a guy’s face against a motorcycle wheel, killed a politician’s sweet old uncle at the airport with an RPG, and seen a real, honest to god pixel-cock.  Yes, that’s right.  Don’t you forget it.

But enough with all of these distractions.  Sure the game is violent, sexual, and over the top in about all the ways it possibly could be, but that’s the point, isn’t it?  Instead, let’s focus on the fact that this is the meatiest best DLC to date.

Period.

TL&D fits itself so perfectly into the game world that already exists in GTAIV you’ll wonder why more people can’t do the same with their DLC.  They’ve slotted the rough-and-tumble Johnny K. into a world that’s GTAIV and not GTAIV at the same time.  The game has a vibe of it’s own: grainy, painful and loud.  Everything from the art direction (film grain to the max!) to the blaring death metal that screams from your bike as you weave through traffic fits right in.

In addition, Rockstar has addressed a number of player complaints including mission checkpoints, a computer located conveniently within your clubhouse, and extremely available ammunition.  You kill, they drop,  rinse and repeat.  The days of restocking ammo/armor between missions is (almost) gone–every once in awhile you’ll find yourself grabbing a body armor, but it’s much less frequent.

You want a good time on a recession-friendly budget?  Grab a copy of TL&D and make some new memories in Liberty City.  You won’t regret it.
